Dr. Sofia Stamataki was born in Florina, Greece.
She was admitted to the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens through the national entrance examinations in 1990 and graduated in 1996 with the degree of “Very Good”.
From 1997 to 1998, she served as a rural physician in Steni, Tinos.
From 1998 to 2004, she completed her specialty training in Otolaryngology at Greek hospitals (“P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital and Hippokration General Hospital of Athens) as well as in hospitals in the United Kingdom (North Hampshire Hospital, Basingstoke, and Gwynedd Hospital, Bangor).
From November 2004 to June 2006, she held a funded postdoctoral research fellowship position at the Center of Hearing and Balance, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA.
From July 2006 to June 2008, she completed an advanced fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at the Women and Children’s Hospital, University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY, USA.
October 2008 – October 2009: ENT Consultant, Mitera Hospital.
October 2009 – December 2018: ENT Consultant at the ENT Department of “P. & A. Kyriakou” Children’s Hospital. In 2016, she completed her postgraduate studies (Master’s Degree) in Social and Cultural Anthropology at Panteion University of Social and Political Sciences.
December 2018 – June 2023: Scientific Director and Head of the ENT Department at “Agia Sofia” Children’s Hospital. In 2022, she obtained her PhD degree from the Medical School of the University of Crete.
July 2023 – Present: Director of the ENT Department, Euroclinic Children’s Hospital.
She has published scientific studies in both international and Greek medical journals and has participated in numerous scientific conferences and specialized courses.
